A taste of Brazil for the rest of the world

On October 1st, we officially opened the Creation Centre Sao Paulo (CCSP). It is the fifth Global Creation Centre of adidas in addition to current centres in Herzo, Portland, Shanghai and Tokyo. It will provide the world with a taste of Brazil. From a business point of view it will help the adidas Group become faster, more consistent and more consumer-focused in the strategic key market of Brazil, in the SLAM markets and on a global level.

Thorsten Harstall, Director Creation Center Sao Paulo, welcomed a highly motivated team to the global adidas family. I interviewed Thorsten what the Creation Center is all about and summarized my key findings in the following post. It was originally posted in our intranet in order to keep our employees updated. Shoes that set records – Berlin Marathon highlights

On Sunday Berlin will host for the 39th time a marathon party, which is part of the world marathon masters. adidas has been a partner of the Berlin Marathon for over 20 years. Amongst other things we supply not only the top-athletes but also all 40.000 participants and all volunteers with over 60.000 products. The track in Berlin is famous for being the fastest course in the world and has often set highlights in marathon running. It’ll be interesting to see what is going to happen this coming Sunday. This story looks back at some highlights and presents the shoes which made history.

How Dwight Howard and adidas helped Chinese special needs students’ dream come true

On August 31st, the dreams of a group of Chinese special needs students came true when NBA superstar Dwight Howard visited them and interacted with them in an adidas-sponsored event in Shanghai. Held in partnership with adidas non-profit partner, Half the Sky Foundation, the event was held at Changning Primary Vocational School and attended by both the disabled students from Changning as well as children from welfare institutions in Nanjing and Changzhou.

A few months ago, we (the Global Consumer Insight department) introduced our pure consumer engagement and insights platform: the “adidas Insiders” community. The Insiders enables us to get a constant inflow of thoughts, feedback and ideas to understand our consumer better every day.

Last January, we launched one of the most exciting contests we’ve ever done on this platform: our Insiders had the chance to put themselves in the shoes of an adidas designer. Seriously, who would not like to be an adidas designer?
