Behind the scenes of the German national team

Behind the scenes of the German national team

I know that this is a pretty bold statement – but for me I have the best job in the world. As a Sports Marketing manager at adidas I am responsible for the German Football Federation. This does not only mean that I have to make sure all players of the national team have their equipment but I am also heavily involved in all activation and campaigns with and around them. And the best thing is, I am always with the team, wherever they travel – and yes, this also includes the World Cup in Brazil this summer… But in my position it is also really important to get the confidence of the players and to speak the same language. How brazuca got Messi’s seal of approval

How brazuca got Messi’s seal of approval

Lionel Messi, Clarence Seedorf, Fabio Capello, Mark van Bommel, Boateng … who can say he has had a kick with all these superstar players and coaches? Well, I can. And when I met all these players, guess who was always with me – brazuca. The Official Match Ball for the 2014 FIFA World Cup is the most tested ball that adidas has ever developed and extensive player perception testing was an essential part of this.

World Cup preps: A great kick-off for a career in sports

Now and then, it gets even better. Luckily, some PR projects leading up to the World Cup involved Germany’s best football players. So all of sudden, being a PR trainee did not only mean to work with the products I love anyway, but also with the players I admire…

Light Revolution – An online exhibition about pioneering innovations

Light Revolution – An online exhibition about pioneering innovations

About a little more than a year ago we introduced the adidas archive to you. Here we present the great legacy Adi Dassler has left us with. Thousands of objects have been stored and collected throughout the years. And each object comes with its own unique story. These are stories about determination and great achievements and stories from all sports and times – waiting to be discovered. Instead of hiding them on dusty shelves we have decided to make them virtually available to you in the adidas archive. Today I am proud and excited to welcome you to our newest exhibition “Light Revolution”. The exhibition not only continues the adidas story but it also introduces you to a core feature at the heart of the adidas innovation: lightweight footwear.

A nation of reviewers: Designing the World Cup football kit for your own team

A nation of reviewers: Designing the World Cup football kit for your own team

My Name is Christian and I am part of the adidas Football-License-Design team. I can proudly say that for the 2014 World Cup, I was part of the product creation process of the new German National Jersey, which the team will wear at the final tournament in Brazil – this is just amazing. Being a German, it was also very challenging, as we wanted to design something completely new and something a whole nation possibly likes…
