In response to our Global Operations team’s request for new global cross functional career development opportunities, we developed a tailored talent scheme called the ‘Ambassador Program’. Sponsored by Global Operations Senior Management team, it gives candidates the unique chance to swap jobs with colleagues in Global Operations from across the world for a set amount of time.
An important part of our role in Global Internal Communications here at the adidas Group is to bring clarity to and create understanding for complex topics through different means of communication. Topics can range from strategy, to the meaning of Key Performance Indicators, all the way to administrative processes employees simply need to know about. The challenge is always to break the topic down in a way that is easy to understand and digest, providing just the right level of detail to keep our audience engaged, and get the message across.
The other day, our Chief Operating Officer and Head of Global Operations Glenn Bennett approached us with a request to create a new orientation video to on-board employees in his Global Operations function. What an exciting day! Being among the winners of the CeBIT Innovation Award 2013 and receiving the “bronze medal” from the German Secretary of Education and Research, Prof. Dr. Johanna Wanka, for our concept “Next Generation Fashion Store” is indeed an overwhelming experience. The project illustrates very well that IT is gaining more and more importance in business as it can make a real difference when it comes to competitive advantage.
The adidas Group Blog’s goal is to give authentic and personal insights into the company behind the brands. Our employees from across all different departments and from across the globe create blog posts on top of their daily work in order to give you a picture of what it is like to work for the adidas Group and which topics really matter to us. However, these employees need to be identified, motivated, coordinated, and sometimes they also seek consultancy.

The external interest and requests adidas History Management received, prompted the department to establish a tool collecting and visualising adidas’ heritage for everyone. Due to the collaboration with adidas heros like Stan Smith, Zinedine Zidane or Jeremy Scott, the adidas archive presents not only the products themselves, but the people and their experiences behind them. In addition, stories such as the Olympics, Innovation at adidas or the Superstar will give you profound insights into the world of adidas.
