After a career as an active rower from 1988 to 2000 (World Champion 1995 and Olympian athlete), I was also elected to be the Head of German athletes’ representation in 2003. Following my work as a scientist at the German Aerospace Agency, as internal consultant at Siemens and after heading the Engineering Planning Department at Airbus for the A380, I joined the adidas Group in 2008 as a Sport Marketing Manager responsible for Olympics, Indoor and Individual Sports. Thus, sports were a decisive part of my entire live and it felt perfect to start working with adidas following my professional career as an athlete.
Today, I am Head of Creation Process Technology at adidas which means for example that I am leading a team which is responsible for the coordination of the creation processes in our creation centres’, including the new Creation Center in Sao Paulo. This Creation center will support the Spanish Latin American market and prepares the whole continent for the two upcoming major sport events: the FIFA World Cup 2014 in Brasil and Olympic Games 2016 in Rio de Janeiro. Even in this position sports and especially the Olympics remain a driving force in my life.
