My name is Jan Runau and I am the adidas Group’s Chief Corporate Communication Officer. I’d like to ask you something: What do you think of the following sentence? “The adidas Group strives to be the global leader in the sporting goods industry with sports brands built on a passion for sports and a sporting lifestyle”.
This sentence is our mission statement and it describes quite well what we are aiming for on a daily basis. But does it also express all the passion we put into our work? Does it make you understand easily why we love what we do and how we do it? Probably it does just as good as one single sentence is able to. But besides the adidas Group’s brands and its products its people give the company’s its heart and soul. Therefore this blog’s objective is to give you a personal and holistic picture of the company behind the brands.
Employees provide personal insights into our business in sports
The blog is authored and maintained first and foremost by adidas Group employees. We want to provide authentic insights and additional background about our company and the manifold business we drive in an industry which is one of the most inspiring and emotional of its kind. We want to conduct a genuine dialogue with everyone who is interested in what we are doing and want to explain how and why we are doing it.
Beyond the Group’s usual communication materials provided to its stakeholders such as reports, releases and statements, a lot more is happening in our fascinating company each and every day – topics which are worth to share and which will hopefully help you to understand the adidas Group even better – no matter if you are an applicant, a journalist, an investor, a sports fan who is interested in off-court issues like sports business or an adidas Group employee who seizes every chance to look beyond the nearby.
