I remember being inspired to run when I watched the great Track & Field athletes at the 72 Munich Olympics. My first pair of running shoes was the SL72, and my first track spike the adidas Apollo, so I’ve been running for 40+ years and witnessed some great athletic achievements.
In 1988 I joined adidas, turning my passion for running into business. This was the same year the adidas brand launched Torsion. While the original concept had some issues, the idea of Torsion, in combination with foam, has informed how running shoes are built up until today. But in all my years of running I’ve never experienced, or witnessed anything quite like our latest innovation – Boost. From the first time I stepped into the shoes, I knew we had something truly remarkable, that this is a “Game Changer”, in our industry!
Boost is revolutionary, with Boost you can feel the energy in every stride!
Boost is iconic, it is uniquely adidas!
Boost is our game changer, it will forever change the way consumers view running shoes!
In simple terms, Boost is a revolutionary innovation that makes you better through endless energy! Whether you are breaking through the wall at the 20 mile point of the Boston Marathon, improving your 10 km time by over 2 minutes, or breaking World Records like Haile, from your first stride to your last, Boost gives you an amazing amount of “endless energy”. A true feeling of the wind at your back every time you run!

Your blog seems to be just in time.
Sport has always been an important part of my life. Starting with gymnastics when I was a kid (influenced by Nadja Comaneci during the Olympic Games 1976) and later changing over to athletics – esp. heptahlon – I’m still giving my best in a fitness studio.
This year I have a new goal and want to improve my running skills, but I quickly got the feeling, that my current shoes need to be replaced. So … for sure I’ll try these!
Adrian,
This is Bob Wood in Salt Lake City. Not sure if you remember me or not. Coached Mick Morris, Kevin Glastonbury at Utah and then went into the agent business about 1982.

You’re very fortunate to turn a passion into a profession. Now I just need to find a way to do the same. haha
